We created THINKNOW in February 2009 to celebrate design in the details of every-day materials, applied to the statements we make through fashion. After several months of material research, testing, and visits from the fire department, we realized that simpler is indeed better. We strive to present you with products that are elegant in their simplicity, beautiful in their materiality, and resonating with true environmental sustainability.
We have a saying that carries through our designs and creative processes that is "...the end of think, the beginning of know". This is meant to embody our expertise-based practice and commitment to meaningful designs.
From this, we derived THINKNOW whereby we encourage each of us to both think AND know about good design, environmental & cultural sustainability, and the brands that represent us. And to do all of these things NOW, for ourselves and for our future generations.
There are four core values that provide the metrics for our products. Without passing each of the following tests with a unanimous "thumbs up!" we go back to the drawing board.
It's all about design...have we created a simply elegant product that is unique and beautiful?
Inspired by earth, nature, cultures...have we captured the essence of simple materials and cultural patterns in such a way that is attractive, inspiring, and even innovative?
How does one define 'unique'?...is each design special enough, different enough, and unprecedented in a wide world of international fashion?
What IS eco-fashion?...is this product as green, recycled, rapidly renewable, and harmless to the environment as possible?
